With Marimba fine-tuning, each soundplate as well as
the resonator can be tuned by plus/minus 50 Cent. Problems in tuning
to other instruments thus belong to the past, and playing in exotic or
natural tunings opens completely new possibilities
The soundplates with pure overtone tuning, are made of
Wenge, creating the nature-like, African timbre prized by many
musicians. Alternatively, soundplates richer in overtones and made of
Padouk are available.
